BATTERY SERVICES
Preventive Maintenance for Forklift Batteries
Visually inspect overall condition of batteries (for evidence of over or under filling operating temperatures, corrosion, etc.)
Check battery for cracked jars and covers
Check electrolyte level, add water as required
Inspect for cracked, damaged or missing vent caps
Check battery straps, cables and connectors
Take voltage readings of all cells in batteries
Check specific gravity of representative cells in batteries
Provide written recommendations when further repairs or maintenance is required
Battery Repair
Replace battery connectors
Replace battery cables
Replace battery cells
Disassemble and reassemble batteries
Acid Adjust and Load Testing
Acid adjust the battery before performing a load test.
Acid adjustment ensures that the battery cells are at the manufacturer’s recommended specific gravity.
Allow three to five days for a normal acid adjust and load test.
Battery Wash
Battery is washed to remove any loose foreign material.
Battery is then neutralized to get rid of exterior acid residue.

Lead acid battery recycling at all Rocky Mountain Battery stores.

Quality Assurance
We test all batteries and chargers for performance before they leave our facility. If they need any repairs to bring them to 80% or better performance, we make those repairs before listing them for sale.
